There’s something so magical about a surprise proposal at one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and Lathaniel knew that.

When you see proposal pictures, hardly do you see all the time and thought that goes behind them. I was contacted by Lathaniel a full 3 months ago. He’d been planning to propose to his girlfriend Candace, and they were flying in to Calgary from Toronto for a family function in September.

Lathaniel thought of everything, from reservations, to rentals, to how to go about this so non-chalantly that Candace didn’t suspect a thing. We set up a call a month before to make sure we keep the surprise and everything was in place.

I road tripped from Calgary to Lake Louise with my friend and second shooter Lilly as we chased the sunset to capture this newly engaged couple. Things went incredibly smooth and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them.
