It was a bitter cold winter day in Calgary, but that wasn’t going to stop this cute ass couple from having some fun in the ice.

I recently introduced to Jake & Sarah the idea of a date night shoot. A session where, instead of coming in with photoshoot mentality, worrying about poses and looks, we instead plan out a fun activity both of them enjoy and I just tag along as their professional third wheel with a camera.

We all head down together to the Downtown Calgary Marriott rooftop ice skating rink at -20ºC and had the time of our lives skating, laughing, and sipping on some hot chocolate.

The result was a super fun experience that yielded super candid moments and I’m actually in love with these photos. Here’s to more date night sessions in the new year!
